Here’s a depressing article – I’ll just quote the first paragraph:
”Human Rights Watch said Friday that Zimbabwe’s armed forces have taken over diamond fields in the east and killed more than 200 people, forcing children to search for the gems and beating villagers who get in the way.”
Plus a photo of the ‘mining’…more like a bunch of people in a dirty pit.

Just when it seemed they were getting the conflict diamond issue under control. At least the problem is getting the publicity it deserves, which in itself will help reduce events like this over the long run.
